Weekly Wrap Up: 10/05-16/05

Welcome to my weekly Sunday wrap up to update you on my week and reading progress!

My Week

I’ve had a tough week even though I haven’t had many exams, but I can feel myself burning out and I just haven’t got as much energy as usual. I’m having some time off on the weekend to relax and prepare myself for two more weeks, with next week being my busiest so far. My remedy to stress is mainly reading, binging Netflix shows and online shopping so that’s what I’ve been doing this week!

This week I also shared some of my favourite Book Clubs in a blog post. Again, I’m not sure what I’ll be posting next week if anything, so let’s see what happens with that!

My Week in Books

It took a while, but I finished The Shadow of the Gods and gave it 4 stars! I loved the Norse mythology, intense battle scenes and seeing the POVs start to converge at the end, and although it took me a while to get into the story and characters, I was fully invested by the end. It’s slow paced but a great set up for the rest of the series which I have to wait so long for – that’s the only downside of getting ARCs of series!

Next, I started the audiobook of Black Sun, which I’m hoping to finish before my trial of Scribd runs out on Tuesday (I’m definitely going to continue using it, but not until I finish college). I had no idea what to expect going in, and I’m loving it so far! I’m interested in all the POVs, especially Xiala and Serapio, and I love all the queer characters. The story itself is unpredictable so I’m excited to keep reading!

I also started Hold Back the Tide, which I’ll probably finish today. I’ve definitely read the blurb before but obviously I must have forgot what it said because this book took me by surprise! I thought it was just a mystery book but it went into a completely different direction than I was expecting, and I’m not mad about it. I love the main character Alva and her friendship with Ren, and I’m scared to see how it will end!

Thanks for reading! How was your week?

  1. I have Hold Back the Tide on my nightstand and I’ve been meaning to get around to it soon, I’m excited to hear your thoughts once you’ve finished 🙂
