March TBR

It’s nearing the end of February, which means another March TBR! As you’ll see on my February Wrap Up next week, I mostly stuck to my TBR so hopefully March will go just as well! I should be going back to college in person soon, so we’ll see how much I actually get to read.

ARCs

1984 is the one book I didn’t get to last month! I’m putting it on my TBR again to force me to read it, so let’s hope I’m more successful this time. I also have an ARC of The Unbroken which comes out on 23rd March. I don’t know much about it, except that it’s a sapphic North Africa inspired fantasy, and that’s enough to make me excited to read it!

Physical TBR

Here are a few books from my physical TBR that I would love to get to this month!

The Obelisk Gate is the second in the Broken Earth series and I’m scared to find out what happens next but I want to read it anyway! The Fifth Season was mind-blowing. It’s my favourite book of 2021 so far and it’s going to take a lot to replace it, so I’m expecting great things from The Obelisk Gate.

Okay, I don’t actually own Siege and Storm yet, but I’m determined to read it before the TV series comes out so hopefully I can get a copy and read it in March or the start of April. Shadow and Bone was pretty good but there’s even more potential for the sequel!

I got Gods of Jade and Shadow for my birthday (here’s my birthday haul post!). I loved Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and I hope Gods of Jade and Shadow is just as good or better!

Book Clubs and Readathons

I didn’t want to participate in many readathons this year because it gets so stressful for me, but some are so exciting that I just have to take part. This is especially true for Becca’s weekend bookoply readathon which is happening on the 20th-21st March. It’s a live 48 hour readathon with some of my favourite youtubers hosting! The first prompts are fantasy and a dark cover, so I will be picking these books in another post closer to the time. If you’re interested, check out Becca’s announcement video.

For book clubs, here are the hopefuls on my TBR:

  • This is How You Lose the Time War is the group read for Buzzwordathon. I’ve owned this for a while so I have no excuses not to read it now!
  • Jade City is the Subtle Asian Book Club pick, and Fonda Lee herself is the guest for their live show! I’ve heard so many great things on booktube and bookstagram, so I’m excited to start the series hopefully in time for the release of the last book.

Thanks for reading! This is a bit of an ambitious TBR and I doubt I’ll get to all of them, but we’ll see! Are there any books you want to read next month?

  1. Such a great TBR! I saw that the Subtle Asian Book Club was doing Jade City for March and I am so so so tempted, but the length scares me! Though the live show w/ Fonda would be really cool to get to participate in. Hope you love all of these and have a great month! ♥

  2. This looks like a great TBR! I’m hoping to find The Obelisk Gate this weekend so I don’t have to put it in my March TBR lmao. I’m also planning on reading The Unbroken though! Also so many of my favourite books are here: Jade City, Gods of Jade and Shadow, and This Is How You Lose The Time War are top tier, I hope you enjoy!
