January TBR

Welcome to my post, today I’m going to talk about my reading plans for January!

January TBR

Luckily this month I have lots of books to choose from! To decide what to read, I made a list of prompts and randomly picked a few to set a short January TBR. First though, there are two books I need to read:

If you saw in my weekly wrap up, I started The Goldfinch last week but I’m still reading it! I did aim to finish it before the end of the year, but I know I won’t finish it in time so there’s no point putting unnecessary pressure on myself. I do want to finish it before I go back to college though, so I’ll be reading it in the first few days of 2021.

I also have an ARC for Space Hopper. It comes out on the 4th February, so I would like to finish that sometime in January to get a review up in time before the release date!

Now, for the randomly generated prompts! I made a tiktok while I was doing it if you want to check it out here.

1. 3 word title: The Burning God

45857086. sy475

The first prompt I got was 3 word title and I immediately decided on The Burning God! I’ve been waiting for this ever since I finished The Dragon Republic in September and it became my favourite book of 2020 (find out the rest here!). I can’t wait to read it but I also don’t want the series to be over. Watch out for tears this month!

2. Pretty cover: Piranesi

50202953. sx318

This cover is so beautiful. I even said that in my Christmas book haul, so I had to choose Piranesi for this prompt! I didn’t realise how small it is, but I’m so ready for this intriguing story.

3. Translated: Tender is the Flesh

49090884

Tender is the Flesh is translated from Spanish. It’s a disturbing dystopian story that comments on the meat industry through cannibalism, so I’m scared but excited to start this! It’s also another short one, so hopefully I can fly through this too.

4. 4+ star rating: The Vanishing Half

53972094

The Vanishing Half has over 100,000 ratings and still has an average rating of 4.28! Impressive right? This sounds like a really interesting and moving historical fiction, from the perspective of two sisters!

So that’s my TBR for January, thanks for reading! What are you planning on reading this month?
