End of Year Book Tag

Today I want to talk about all the books I want to finish by the end of this year (if it ever ends). I wasn’t actually tagged, but I’m using this as a way to stay accountable!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

1371

I can’t promise I will finish this by the end of the year, but I started an audiobook of The Iliad and never finished. I’ve read enough retellings to know the plot, but I’ve got to finish the original!

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Most of my October reads were ‘autumnal’ but I think Vengeful and The Goldfinch count? It’s more their cover and vibes rather than being set in autumn. Both of these are intimidating to me: Vengeful because I’ve heard mixed opinions about it and I want it to live up to Vicious, and The Goldfinch because it’s over 700 pages!

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

I completely forgot to add this to my November TBR! The Burning God is one of my five star predictions, and it could even become one of my favourites of the year? Clearly I have high expectations, but I don’t think The Burning God will disappoint!

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

I have to read these books soon! The only one I own right now is Pachinko, but I will do everything I can to get my hands on Gods of Jade and Shadow and Cemetery Boys. I loved Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s Mexican Gothic, I’ve seen so much hype around Cemetery Boys and I’ve wanted to read Pachinko for ages, so I’m excited to get to all of these.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

If The Burning God became my favourite book, I wouldn’t be surprised. My other 5 star predictions wouldn’t surprise my either, and since I don’t know what else I’ll be reading you’ll just have to see!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?

I’m planning to read more books in 2021 (reading was almost non-existent in the first 4 months of 2020!). Apart from that I don’t have anything set in stone. I’d love to catch up with new, popular books as well as some classics but nothing specific yet!

Thanks for reading! What do you want to read before the end of the year? If you want to do this tag too, you’re tagged now!
