Thanks to @LocalBeeHuntersNook for #5OnMyTBR – a weekly bookish meme where we share 5 books on our TBR list from prompts (which you can find here). The prompt this week is enemies to lovers!
I said in a post about types of books I want to read more of that I needed to read more enemies to lovers books so this will hold me accountable! As a warning, all of these books are fantasy (so romance might be more of a subplot) and I don’t know for sure if they are all actually enemies to lovers – blame goodreads lists if they’re not!
Crier’s War
✿ YA fantasy
✿ sapphic romance!
✿ 464 pages
✿ Published: October 2019
Crier’s War is a f/f enemies to lovers fantasy romance. Do I need to say any more?? This has been on my radar for a while and I’ve heard a lot of people talk about it, so I need to catch up and read it already!
When Dimple Met Rishi
✿ YA contemporary
✿ 380 pages
✿ Published: May 2017
When Dimple Met Rishi is the only contemporary romance on this list (oops) but I need to ease myself into romance okay? Most people have said it’s cute and also funny so I think it will be a great book to break up the gigantic fantasies I normally read!
An Enchantment of Ravens
✿ YA fantasy
✿ 300 pages
✿ Published: September 2017
An Enchantment of Ravens is a fluffy standalone with faeries. This has some mixed reviews, but ultimately it sounds like a good, light read.
Children of Blood and Bone
✿ YA fantasy
✿ 544 pages
✿ Published: March 2018
Children of Blood and Bone is another book I’ve been meaning to get to for a while, but I didn’t even realise it had the enemies to lovers trope until I watched a few YouTube recommendation videos (I don’t think romance is a big focus though?).
An Ember in the Ashes
✿ YA fantasy
✿ 446 pages
✿ Published: February 2016
An Ember in the Ashes has blown up again in the booktube community recently, so I’m interested to see what the hype is about!
Thanks for reading and putting up with all of the YA fantasy there! Do you like the enemies to lovers trope?

I adore the enemies to lovers trope, although I tend to read full on romances with the trope at the forefront, rather than fantasies where the romance is a subplot. But I have read a few fantasies with the trope, and loved those as well!
From the ones on your list that I’ve read, I think An Enchantment of Ravens is my favorite! It’s just so well written and the way the relationship develops was absolutely adorable! I still have distinct memories of reading that book and loving it!

I read Children of Blood and Bone and it was really good! The story and the adventure are good. There’s also magic and it adds nicely to everything! Personally I didn’t love all of the characters but the book was still pretty good. Have you seen the second one?
Great list by the way! Most of these are on mine too!
