The Folklore Book Tag

Thank you to Paper Hearts for tagging me, and A Whisper Of Ink for creating this tag! I have a confession: I don’t like Taylor Swift. Or I didn’t. I remember loving her songs with everyone else when I was younger, but I quickly grew out of her. However, I decided to give Taylor a second chance with Folklore and I don’t regret it. This album is beautiful, and I’m glad I can do this tag!

The rules:

1.Link to the original creator: Ilsa @ A Whisper Of Ink
2.Tag at least 3 people.
3.Declare the rules and list of prompts in your post.
4.Thank whoever tagged you and link to their post.

I feel like everyone else has done this tag, so I’m sorry if you already have! I tag:

The Secret History

Everyone probably wants me to shut up about this one, but I can’t help it! It’s not necessarily the last word but the events leading up to the ending shook me. I was not expecting Henry to do that. My full review is here.

The Song of Achilles

Another book I will never get over. Patroclus and Achilles are so pure and I love them both, but we all know how the Illiad ends.

35887181

The Poppy War.

THIS BOOK. I love everything about it, and if you follow me on goodreads, you’ll know.

The Selection

Actually, I don’t regret most books I’ve read so this was really hard. Don’t hate me, but I just really didn’t like The Selection: the characters, the dialogue, the love triangle… it wasn’t for me. It also put me off romance for so long, so that’s the only reason why I wish I hadn’t read it because I don’t actively hate this.

11486

The Colour Purple

I haven’t cried at a book for a long time, but I know I cried at this one. I think it was the diary style and the way you feel really intimate with Celie, so when something bad happens it makes it so much worse.

28187

The whole Percy Jackson series

Percy Jackson (and Harry Potter, but this one is more important to me rn) is what properly got me into reading and even though I can’t remember a lot of the series, I remember how feeling happy, sad and just about everything else while reading them.

First Term at Malory Towers: Amazon.co.uk: Blyton, Enid ...Ottoline and the Yellow Cat: Amazon.co.uk: Chris Riddell, Chris ...

Malory Towers and Ottoline

I reread these books so many times when I was younger. I don’t even know why I loved them so much but they’re so cute :,)

20957276

The Maze Runner

I know this isn’t actually a very summer read but I’ll always associate it with Greece when we visited and I read the whole series.

18490

Frankenstein

Frankenstein is about so much more than this, but the monster is shunned from society and wonders what it means to be human, so I think it fits quite well!

Historical Fiction

I didn’t exactly get a ‘book hangover’ for The Familiars, but historical fiction always makes me crave more of the time period and it feels weird going straight back into something else.

Heartstopper

Okay, I haven’t actually read Heartstopper yet, but discovering cute graphic novels and romances in general is just what I need ❤

6413723

Macbeth

I don’t know why I picked this one but I remember studying it at GCSE English and being really fascinated by Lady Macbeth and how she was portrayed, and she was definitely a badass.

1857397

The Picture of Dorian Gray

This books is both beautiful and ugly, like Dorian Gray, and I desperately need to reread this because I don’t want to forget it!

44286258. sy475

The Henna Wars

Another book I haven’t read yet oops, and I’ve talked about this before, but from what everyone’s said I’m already predicting a great sapphic book couple!

17157681

The Hobbit

I wanted to like this so badly. I loved the films and The Lord of the Rings (and they are long), so I was convinced I’d like the book too. But it was painful to read and just a bit much, I’m sorry!

Thanks for reading! What’s your favourite song on Folklore?
