5 On My TBR: Pastel Covers

Thanks to @LocalBeeHuntersNook for #5OnMyTBR – a weekly bookish meme where we share 5 books on our TBR list from prompts (which you can find here).  The prompt this week is pastel covers!

I actually found this quite hard and it made me realise how dark and boring the covers are on my TBR list. I managed to find a few though, so here we go…

The Henna Wars

the henna wars

→ lgbt

→ romance

→ young adult

I’ve heard a lot of good reviews from this one, but essentially it’s a sapphic romance about Nishat, who has a crush on Flavia, her henna business rival.

I definitely need to read more LGBT+ books and this one caught my eye for its diversity and great reviews, saying how it dealt with social issues without being too heavy.

The Uni-Verse: The Ultimate Guide to Surviving University

the uni-verse

→ non-fiction

I wouldn’t have even thought about reading a book like this, but I have to read Jack Edward’s book, who’s a studytuber. It’s the ultimate guide to university, written by a recently graduated student, with lots of puns and jokes I’m sure.

Since I’m currently looking at universities, I thought it would be the perfect book to include on my TBR list.

The Swap

the swap

→ thriller

→ mystery

The Swap is a psychological thriller “about the toxic relationship between two couples after a night of sexual shenanigans, and the manipulative teenager with an explosive secret at the centre of it all.”

It sounds chaotic and twisted and I’m here for that! I hope this counts as pastel😂

The Bell Jar

the bell jar

→ classic

The Bell Jar follows the deterioration of Esther Greenwood’s mental stability as she suffers from depression.

I’ve only read Sylvia Plath’s poems not books so I’ve been meaning to read this for a while. It sounds like quite a dark but insightful book.

The Wonder

the wonder

→ historical fiction

→ mystery

The Wonder is set in 1850s Ireland, following a nurse who discovers a girl who claims she hasn’t eaten anything for four months.

This is on my TBR because it’s a refreshing historical era and place that I haven’t read much about, and the concept instantly intrigued me.

So that’s my TBR pastel cover list 🙂 Let me know what’s on your TBR list and if it was as hard for you to find pastel covers!
